There is no cost to attend and a continental breakfast is included.
7:30-8:30 a.m. in the Portage County Business Council Foundation Room
Topic: "Cross Train Your Brain"
Presented by:
Alane Flora, BS
Business Development Coordinator
Brookdale Stevens Point (BU24652)
About the Program:
Studies have shown that many Americans dread the prospect of declining brain function with aging. In this presentation we will discuss normal age-related changes in brain function as well as pathological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and vascular dementia. Modifiable risk factors for these pathological conditions will be identified, and specific recommendations will be provided in order to reduce these risks. While there is no cure for Alzheimer’s and other dementias, research continues to be promising for the impact of lifestyle choices for risk reduction. This presentation will cover some of the latest research and steps you can take to insure YOUR brain is healthy for a lifetime.
In this X-Change you will learn:
- Identify the basics of the human brain.
- Identify normal versus pathological changes associated with brain aging.
- Name the six dimensions of wellness and how they relate to healthy brain function.
- Identify recent research findings related to brain healthy lifestyle.
- Provide resources to create and apply a personal plan to cross-train your BRAIN!
