Human Resources Payroll and Benefits Representative

Team Schierl Companies (TSC) is a family owned company and operated since 1956, with 60 retail locations employing over 700 Associates throughout WI and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are seeking a Payroll and Benefits Representative to join our Team at our Home Office in Stevens Point, WI.

This full-time position offers a 1st shift schedule of Monday-Friday, with flexible hours between 7:00AM-5:00PM, a competitive starting wage, a full benefits package, and a casual work environment.

Overtime is occasionally necessary (some weekend or holiday work may be required).

Our Ideal candidate will be responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing, maintenance of Associate records, garnishment calculations, tax reporting and payroll general ledger entries. In this role, you may also serve as a point of contact for exempt and non-exempt Associates to ensure administration, coordination and education of benefits and policy.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Process all aspects of bi-weekly payroll for Wisconsin and Michigan locations via Paychex, assuring that wages, salaries, and deductions are computed correctly and paid in accordance with established policy

Manage special payroll processing for bonuses and incentives

Reconcile WI & MI bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually tax reporting forms and tax documents

Administer payroll audits and provide ad hoc reports to leadership

Analyze and resolve processing issues

Additional responsibilities may include group facilitation for New Associate Orientation, support and maintaining Team Schierl Companies HealthiCHOICES initiatives, safety programs, 401k enrollment, and other functional support

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications and Experience:

Associate degree or higher in business with an emphasis in accounting, and/or payroll accounting and processing  experience preferred - preferably high volume, utilizing specialized payroll software

Experience working with an HRIS platform and an affinity for the use of technology to implement efficiencies with accuracy

Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – Excel and Word skills are very desirable

Strong attention to detail with analytical and organizational skills, an aptitude for numbers, as well as ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

Must possess a high degree of integrity, maintaining confidentiality and exercising extreme discretion and a high attention to accuracy and detail

Qualified candidates must have proven oral and written communication skill
