What To Expect:

  • Oversees and manages the entire company safety program to affect culture change and eliminate injuries.
  • Understand and utilize the safety systems in place to capture all observations, near misses, incidents and injuries for effective and complete resolution and future prevention following the safety pyramid approach to minimizing hazards.
  • Act as the company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety and health matters that affect the company.
  • Prepare and update written safety programs, hazard analysis and other policies based on the workplace need and regulations.
  • Focus on process improvement, innovative problem solving and critical thinking approaches to mitigate risk.  
  • Communicate and present reports with varying levels of senior leadership, managers, and supervisors in related business units.
What You Will Contribute:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety field or equivalent; 5-10 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Clear understanding of effective safety strategies, programs, best practices and rules and how to effectively influence organizational change.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and maintenance software (WMS) preferred but not required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
