Job Title: Marketing Copywriter

Marketing Copywriter: Develops and edits copy for different marketing materials/channels.

Do you have good communication and strategic skills to effectively deliver marketing objectives through written communication?  If your answer is yes, then this position might be your calling.
 
Skyward’s marketing department is looking for someone who excels at written communication. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be extremely detail-oriented with excellent time management skills, have a strong sense of urgency and be a team player who is a quick learner.  
 
The successful candidate will have an outgoing personality and exercise good judgement. Culture fit is every bit as important to us as background and experience.
 
Essential Responsibilities:

• Authors and edits a range of materials for use by internal and external audiences.
• Exercises good judgement in the creation of marketing copy that is consistent with Skyward internal standards.
• Achieves fluency in the “Skyward voice” as evidenced by consistency of tone, message, and delivery.
• Achieves and maintains basic knowledge of Skyward products and services.
• Demonstrates creativity and critical thinking by producing original, unique marketing copy within the constraints of assigned topics.
• Works in conjunction with department management and marketing team members to complete marketing materials.
• Demonstrates quality proofreading by producing high-quality work with minimal spelling/grammatical errors.
• Measure, critique, and review marketing and education projects according to cost and benefit to Skyward and customers.
• Creates a variety of marketing copy along with some occasional longer-form editorial copy for our blog.
• Display understanding of current writing techniques, trends, and best practices.
• Achieves and maintains basic knowledge of the K-12 administrative software market, including Skyward’s top competitors.
• Consults with internal stakeholders on editorial topics to ensure accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree required in communications, English, journalism/broadcast or relevant field.
• At least 1-2 years experience in marketing writing preferred.
