Vendor Sourcing Specialist

Ortho Molecular Products is recruiting for a Vendor Sourcing Specialist to be based at the manufacturing facility locates in Stevens Point, WI.  In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and qualifying nutraceutical raw material vendors to advise the product development team of preferred vendor partnerships. Another integral part of this position requires the incumbent to oversee and maintain our company raw material sourcing strategies, cost targets and quality standards while monitoring market trends to ensure an ongoing, secure supply chain.

What you will do: 

  • Validation of raw materials from existing and new vendors.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, both domestic and international, to strategically source raw materials.
  • Manage all sourcing initiatives to qualifying new vendors, identify best in class suppliers, provide competitive pricing, and implement effective sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor vendor quality and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Investigate and initiate efforts to improve and maintain the fidelity of our raw material supply chain.
  • Oversee and obtain all documentation for each raw ingredient to include: COA, Country of Origin, Certificates, Allergen Statements, Composition Statements, Specification Sheets, and Nutritional Facts.
  • Effectively communicate with vendors, distributors, and key company stakeholders and prepare appropriate meetings.
  • Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure supplier delivery is timely and meets or exceeds R&D timelines.
  • Support the process in the selection, assessment, and development of new suppliers.
  • Work closely with Purchasing department to track software and understand MRP Systems.
  • Work with quality assurance department to complete vendor audit, qualification, and certification process.
  • Communicate all deficiencies and supply chain issues immediately.
  • Track and Follow up on all R&D product samples.
  • Organize, maintain, and update the product library, current vendor product options, and create vendor files.
  • Ensure R&D products are accurate and assist in submitting for production by due date.
  • Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditures.
  • Act as a contact for both vendors and internal departments for R&D projects. 
  • Ability to comprehend the science and associated studies linked with the use of raw materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions while following communication procedures, guidelines, and policies.
  • Ability to listen attentively and solve problems that may seem unstructured and require the use of conceptual thinking.
  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to multitask in fast paced, high volume work environment.
  • Proven computer proficiency using Microsoft Office, NAV, SharePoint, and web-based platforms.

What we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related field. Food Science preferred
  • Prior development and knowledge of dietary supplements is preferred
