E. John Buzza Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

John Buzza with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. With 50 years of practiced experience in business, real estate and nonprofit law, Mr. Buzza has become an authority in his industry. Beginning his career as a partner at Glinski & Buzza in 1969, he became a shareholder and director at Terwilliger, Wakeen, Piehler & Conway in 1976. In 1996 he was a founding member of the new law firm, First Law Group S.C., and practiced in that firm until its dissolution in 2016. In 2016 Mr. Buzza and two lawyers from the First Law Group firm started his current law firm, Buzza Dreier & Johnson LLC of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. In 1985 Mr. Buzza became a board member with the Portage County Economic Development Corporation and served as a past president of the organization.

Prior to becoming an esteemed lawyer, Mr. Buzza pursued higher education with a Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Jurisprudence from Marquette University in 1967 and 1969, respectively. He was admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Wisconsin in 1969, as well as before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin in 1969, the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin in 1970, the United States Tax Court in 1974 and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1979.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Buzza volunteered in his industry and community. He sat on the board of directors for Stevens Point Chamber of Commerce, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Foundation, and the Pacelli High School Educational Foundation. Recently, Mr. Buzza served as the director of Friends of Schmeeckle Reserve from 2015 to 2018 and of the Green Circle Trail since 2003. He also served as a trustee of the Elks Club from 1980 to 1982 and a member of Lawyers of Distinction in 2019.

Mr. Buzza authored and edited the Tropical Blend Newsletter from 1993 to 1995. In recognition of his many achievements in the field, he received the Woolsack Society Award in 1969 and was named a Lawyer of Distinction in 2019. Mr. Buzza was featured in in the ninth edition of Who's Who in American Law in 1996.
