DESCRIPTION:"FMLA ADMINISTRATION WORKSHOP" Federal and Wisconsin - September 27\, 2018\n\n\n\nYou're invited to attend our one-day\, interactive workshop designed for business people responsible for Human Resources to discuss both the Federal and Wisconsin FMLA. ACT FAST - SPACE IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 15 PEOPLE REGISTERED!\n\n\n\nComplexity and frustration are two words our clients use when complying with Family and Medical Leave Acts. If you have felt the frustration of trying to understand FMLA or developing a program that works for your organization\, this workshop can help. \n\n\n\nWe will review the areas where you have to make decisions as to how you are going to establish your policy. Examples showing consequences of different decisions - measurement year\, substitution options\, etc - will be provided to help you make informed decisions. Finally\, you will be provided with a sample policy along with a variety of forms and resources to help you navigate and administer this important employee benefit.\n\n\n\nEven if you have an FMLA policy in place\, this workshop may help you:\n\n - Have a more thorough understanding of the law and the areas in which you have options\n\n - Be more comfortable with the conversations you have with employees regarding their rights\, responsibilities\, and benefits\n\n - Understand your supervisor training obligations to better protect them from personal liability concerns\n\nInstructor:\n\n\n\nKaren Bender\, SHRM-SCP\, CEBS\n\nHuman Resources Consultant\n\n\n\nThe Portage County Business Council has partnered with Hausmann-Johnson Insurance and Karen Bender\, Human Resources Consultant to bring you this workshop. \n\n\n\nAbout Our Instructor: Karen Bender joined Hausmann-Johnson Insurance in 2017 with over 30 years of Human Resources experience. Her experience includes regulatory compliance (FMLA\, EEO\, FLSA\, HR\, and Safety) benefits\, wage and salary administration\, employee relations\, training\, and payroll. The majority of her industry experience is in insurance and manufacturing and she is knowledgeable in both union and non-union environments.\n\n\n\nKaren also provides training services to UW-Madison Small Busines Development Center (SBDC) in HR areas and instructs a class for the UW-Madison Division of Continuing Studies. Further\, she developed and teaches courses targeted at providing small businesses (less than 100 employees) with general HR guidance and employment law review to help them maintain compliance and improve their processes.\n\n\n\nKaren enjoys working outside\, spending time with family\, reading and traveling.
