The event provides an opportunity for women in the Central Wisconsin area to network safely\, talk about issues that affect their daily professional lives\, learn something new and have fun doing it.  This event will includes a delicious lunch\, complimentary swag bag\, door prizes\, 50/50 raffle and great networking.  Women in Business is open to the public.\n\n\n\nWednesday\, September 20\, 2023\n\n11:15AM to 1:00PM\n\n Master of Ceremonies: Radio Personality Carly Rogers from Midwest Communications\n\nLocation: Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center\, 1001 Amber Avenue\, Stevens Point\, WI\n\n\n\nSpecial Guest Speaker is Casey Demers\, Director of Business Development from The Boldt Company\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout our Speaker: Casey received her BA in Political Science & Spanish from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point\, and a MA in Political Science & Public Administration from Northeastern Illinois University. She held Business Development leadership roles within the commercial furniture industry for 10 years. Today she supports the built environment from a new lens. For over 12 years Casey has led conversations\, facilitated workshops and visioning sessions regarding space utilization and the design requirements of the most engaging teaching\, learning\, healing and working spaces. Casey is an active member of the communities she serves. She is a Board Member for CREATE Portage County\, a Placemaking Committee member for The Wausau River District\, member of Wausau Early Birds Rotary Club\, and the DC Everest Noon Optimists.\n\n\n\nAbout Casey's Program: "Thriving in a Gender Bias Industry: Stepping Up and Stepping In". As a "woman in construction" Casey finds it invaluable to share what a role in this industry means\, as well as all others in a non-traditional gender biased role or industry. Specifically\, the construction industry as a whole recently celebrated 1 million women in the construction industry for the FIRST TIME EVER\, over 14% in the industry!\n\n\n\nTake-aways from Casey's Program:\n\n- The missing 33%: What is it and how do we close the gap?\n\n- Stepping Up & In: Here We Come: the data and the impact women are making today in all areas of leadership.\n\n- We've Got This...And Each Other: the importance of mentorship and networking to lift and lead one another.\n\n\n\nDelicious Lunch consisting of Slow Cooked Beef Tips over Egg Noodles\, House Salad\, Rolls and Apple Pie for Dessert.
