The program is the first event in the year-long Truth\, Trust and Technology: Information in the Age of AI series. The College of Letters and Science public engagement series launches on Tuesday\, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m.\n\n\n\nArtificial Intelligence has made it challenging to believe what you see. In daily life\, we navigate slop videos\, deepfakes and AI-generated evidence. What role do humans play in our current environment? How do we protect ourselves?\n\nGuests will include Chad Johnson\, associate professor in Computing and New Media Technologies.\n\nThis event is free\, but participants are encouraged to register by October 22\, 2026 at midnight to guarantee seating!\n\n\n\n\n\nThe College of Letters and Science Community Engagement Series for 2026-27 will focus on the prevalence of misinformation in the age of artificial intelligence. Speakers will discuss how we got to the present-day environment and best practices to evaluate the truth of a source material.
