CHILD CARE FOOD SERVICE

REPORTS TO: PCS Tim Copps Early Childhood Center Director

GENERAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Must document annual training of at least 4 hours in kitchen sanitation, food handling and nutrition
  • Must meet all the requirements set by the Wisconsin DCF for a cook in a child care center as listed in the Wisconsin Administrative code 251
  • Provide a good Christian model and example in one’s attitudes and actions
  • Wear clean clothing and effective hair restraints such as hair nets or caps
  • Wash hands with soap and warm running water before starting work, before and after handling food, and after using the bathroom. Hands shall be dried with single use towels
  • May not have an open or infected wound or sore unless it is covered, and if on the hand, a nonporous glove is worn on that hand
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack daily for the children
  • Keep track weekly of supplies that need to be ordered and work with Early Childhood Center Director
  • Log daily the food, refrigerator, milk cooler and freezer temperatures
  • Wash dishes and clean kitchen daily
  • Wash toys and infant bottles and dishes daily (after breakfast & after lunch)
  • Sanitize the kitchen counters daily
  • Make sure the daily work checklist is filled out and given to the Early Childhood Center Director each week
  • Perform any other duties as may be necessary and assigned by the Early Childhood Center Director
  • Complete production sheets per CACFP rules
  • Complete menus for breakfast, lunch and snack
  • Complete and submit meal count sheets for the month to CACFP

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.50 - $16.00 per hour
