The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Information Technology Department invites qualified candidates to apply for the Campus Support Team Specialist position.
This position provides multidisciplinary information technology (IT) services to support complex IT functionality according to Academic College’s program's business goals and objectives. This position emphasizes supporting users of computer and audio-visual equipment at the UWSP-Stevens Point campus. It will require occasional flexible hours that may include limited evenings, weekends and/or on-call hours. Limited travel between UWSP campuses and alternative sites may occasionally be required. The ability to work independently while providing excellent customer services in a fast-paced academic environment is a requirement. |
User Support
·Answers complex questions, provides information, creates documentation, and trains end-users on how to use hardware, software, and applications.

Hardware and Software Support
·Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots computer and audiovisual hardware, along with configuring and maintaining software applications for various environments and business needs.
·May design and execute the implementation of complex technology systems and services for specialized academic environments such as classrooms and research laboratories.

IT Asset Management
·Research potential technology purchases and make equipment recommendations according to work unit business needs and requests.
·Reviews existing equipment, updates inventories, and processes purchasing requests.
·Coordinates installation of hardware and software in classrooms, offices, and conference rooms.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Associate degree in a computer related field.
- 2-4 years of experience supporting MS Windows computers, including hardware installation, software installation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting mobile devices.
- Excellent customer support skills including excellent written and oral communications.
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a computer, technology-related, or technical field.
- 4-6 years of experience supporting MS Windows computers, including hardware installation, software installation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting MacOS and Linux computers.
- Experience working in Higher Education and/or Enterprise sized organization.
- Experience supporting audio-visual equipment including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Project management experience.
- Working knowledge of GIS applications or experience support GIS applications.
- Experience automating business processes with scripting languages like PowerShell.
- Experience support Distance Education/HyFlex Classrooms.
