**Ideal candidate will be located in service regions for regular travel within communities and offices. Role will have two direct reports.**

 

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Mission Impact and Community Engagement Director, the Business Development Manager will support advancement of the Lakeland Care brand through business innovation, marketing, and increased support to Lakeland Communities. The Business Development Manager will manage the daily execution of the business development goals, strategy, and processes to support organizational outcomes, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. The role also builds market position by locating, developing, defining, and securing business relationships and community strengthening through partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the Business Development Manager analyzes market trends, identifies sales objectives and opportunities including potential grants, and delegating organizational action cross functionally. 

 

Responsibilities & Competencies:

  • Plan and oversee organizational strategy to support business innovation goals and brand awareness goals. 
  • Identify a marketing strategy to advance organizational business success. 
  • Provide recommendations for new product offerings or improvements to sales or marketing efforts.
  • Assess industry and organizational opportunities for expansion. 
  • Develop a process between LCI and LC Plus business areas to create, secure, and close sales opportunities. 
  • Fulfill all necessary requirements of various funding bodies to ensure compliance to grant awards. 
  • Research, write and submit for grants to best serve Lakeland Care’s current and future state. 
  • Develop innovative service models which can be supported through LCI volunteers. 
  • Establish key community relations to strengthen Lakeland Care communities with the use of LCI Volunteers and Lakeland Care services.
  • Establish team targets and metrics to secure success within key performance indicators in the areas of business development, marketing, grants, and volunteerism. 
  • Work with accounting and other stakeholders to develop pro forma for potential business prospect(s). 
  • Coach teams cross functionally in best practices and effective tactics for prospecting new markets, partners, channels, and customers.
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally to evolve business opportunities and Lakeland Care funding opportunities.
  • Develop and utilize contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, financial needs, and new opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in sales, marketing, or related area.
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Experience with developing new business opportunities.
  • Knowledge of Family Care Program and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) preferred.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects at a time.
  • Demonstrated ability to be sales driven, goal-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong business acumen skills.
  • Ability to build positive, collaborative working relationships with leaders and staff.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
