Join MILC's team to make a difference by helping individuals with disabilities develop or improve the skills needed to live independently within their communities! As an Independent Living (IL) Consultant, under the general supervision of the IL Manager, the IL Consultant is responsible for delivery and coordination of those independent living services requested by persons with disabilities to assist them in living independently by connecting them to resources and services. Together you will develop a plan for achieving consumers goals related to independent living such as employment, housing, transportation, etc. This position will require meeting consumers in the community and their homes and may involve accessing all levels of the residence. Ability to travel within MILC's 11-county service area and statewide is required. Occasional overnight travel may be required. This position will have a defined area of focus related to Architectural Accessibility and will receive specialized training in this area. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday, 40-hours per week position. Bachelors degree in Human or Social Services or related backgrounds preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience in providing support to persons with disabilities may be substituted for the degree.
