The Portage County Historical Society is excited to partner with District 1 Brewing for the re-release of Polish Eagle Brau—a pre-Prohibition style lager inspired by the historic Polish Brewing Company of Stevens Point. Originally founded in 1907 by Polish tavern keepers, the brewery offered affordable alternatives to a local monopoly before closing in 1917 with the arrival of Prohibition. Today, its legacy lives on in this carefully recreated lager, brewed with historically accurate ingredients to give you a true taste of history.
?The evening will also feature a short presentation by John Harry, Executive Director of PCHS, titled “The Polish History of Portage County.” Learn how the Polish community shaped our local culture and brewing traditions, then raise a glass of Polish Eagle Brau to kick off Dozynki Downtown, which begins the next day in Stevens Point.
?Don’t miss your chance to enjoy this historic brew—na zdrowie!
