“What in the World is Going On? A Global Intelligence Briefing”
About our Speaker: Herb Meyer served during the Reagan Administration as Special Assistant to the Director of Central Intelligence and Vice Chairman of the CIA's National Intelligence Council. In these positions, he managed production of the US National Intelligence Estimates and other top-secret projections for the President and his national security advisers. Mr. Meyer is widely credited with being the first senior US Government official to forecast the collapse of the Soviet Union - a forecast for which he later was awarded the US National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, which is the Intelligence Community's highest honor.
Mr. Meyer is host and producer of The Siege of Western Civilization, a DVD outlining the threats to our security, our economy, and our culture that became an international best-seller. Formerly an associate editor of FORTUNE, he has authored several books including Real-World Intelligence and Hard Thinking. His essays on intelligence and politics have been published in The Wall Street Journal, National Review Online, Policy Review and The American Thinker. He has been a guest on leading television and radio talk shows.
These days, Mr. Meyer is a popular speaker on the lecture circuit. He delivers his overview of global trends and developments, entitled What in the World is Going On: A Global Intelligence Briefing to corporations, business associations, student organizations and public affairs groups throughout the world.
About the Presentation: Today more than ever before, we need to understand what is going on in the world. Key trends in politics, economics and even culture have an impact on every business, and to manage effectively executives must know how these trends will affect their companies. In this presentation, Mr. Meyer will talk about hte national security, economic and culture issues that dominate the news: What lies behind the terrorists' attacks on our country and on other Western nations? Where is the war now, and what decisions will the President be facing in the coming weeks and months. What must companies do to reach this fast-growing new customer base? What kinds of products and services will these emerging markets want to buy?
Herb Meyer will talk about all this - and more - in a lively and interactive way. He will help us to "connect the dots" so we can an make better sense of today's fast-breaking developments and home and overseas.
Key Presentations Topics:
- The world is becoming modern.
- The world is emerging from poverty at a rate never before seen.
- We are living through the emergence and exponential growth of a global middle class - this is the biggest under-reported news story of our time.
- Despite all of today's problems, we may well be on the verge of an economic boom, perhaps even a sonic or super-sonic boom.
