We are "putting a cork" in Wines of the World this year.
We have decided to put Wines of the World on pause so that we may offer a BRAND NEW, exclusive event: Sip & Savor: An Evening of Fine Wine, Spirits, Food & Friends. The Portage County Business Council is excited to host this event on Friday, October 30, 2020 with VIP Sponsor TDS!
You have the choice of attending from 5:00-7:00PM or 8:00-10:00PM. Each intimate gathering will be limited to 50 people with table seating. Participants will be treated to 4 premium wines and 2 ultra-rare bourbons, along with delicious food pairings including Caprese Salad with Heirloom Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella & Chiffonade Basil glazed with 25-year barrel-aged balsamic vinegar; Escargot smothered in garlic, shallots and herb butter served on a baked Crostini; Beef Pate, Artisan Cheese & Olive Charcuterie Plate; Bacon-wrapped, Crab-stuffed Shrimp covered with Hollandaise; and Chef David's Special Bourbon-glazed Salmon. Fabulous desserts will also be served including Chocolate Truffles, Tiramisu, and White Chocolate Mousse with Fresh Berries. We promise to provide you an incredible evening learning about wines, spirits and expertly matched hors d'oeuvre creations. If there's anything better than a glass of great wine, it's a glass of wine with its perfect food partner. From artisan cheeses, to elegant desserts, to fine savories, you will enjoy an evening filled with food and drink decadence.
Each event will be hosted by a friendly wine expert and chef who will guide you through the selections with fascinating facts and education to increase your wine, bourbon and food enjoyment. This will be a sit-down, guided, tasting event perfect for a date night, a special celebration, or simply a girl's night out. Round up your closest comrades for an evening of enticing flavors, newfound knowledge, and cherished memories.
By reservation only, four-people to a table. Tickets are $100/per person.
Those in attendance for the 5PM event will have a chance to win the Grand Door Prize of a Unique Dining Experience for 4 and bottle of wine with Chef David from the Holiday Inn. Those in attendance for the 8PM event will have a chance to win the Grand Door Prize of a Unique Dining Experience for 6 in the privacy of your home with Chef Scott Rockman, owner of Rockman's Catering.
