Join us for our Women in Business Luncheon with special guest speaker Lori Schlueter, Plant Manager of Donaldson Company, Inc.
Title of Presentation: "The Naked Truth - The Woman in the Mirror"
About the Program: Competitive, independent, driven, strong, aggressive, cold. Cooperative, dependent, nurturing, emotional, soft, giving. What do these terms represent? Men and women? Male-dominated versus female-dominated roles?
Join Lori's raw and emotional journey navigating the balance of being a woman advancing her career in the traditionally masculine setting of manufacturing. Lori's inspiration started while she was growing up on a dairy farm in rural Minnesota. No journey is all smooth sailing, and, like many, she struggled with work life balance. Achieving equal pay and equal opportunities is still a battle we all must wage head-on. Sometimes, this journey leads to the proverbial fork in the road. Lori will share how she chose the path leading to graceful leadership on her non-traditional terms: leadership built on empathy, nurturing and giving while being strong, remaining independent and driving business success.
About our Speaker: Multitasking was a requirement growing up on a small dairy farm in rural Minnesota. By the time Lori was 16, she was helping on the farm, cheering her team as a varsity cheerleader, leading roles in high school theater and working a part-time assembly job at a manufacturing facility. Manufacturing was in her blood, and nearly 30 years later, Lori is the Plant Manager for Donaldson in Stevens Point. Donaldson employs about 375 production and salaried associates to make liquid filters for construction and agricultural equipment. She has worked for small manufacturing companies and large Fortune 500 manufacturing companies in her career. Lori joined Donaldson six years ago, starting at the corporate offices in Minneapolis in a global operations supply chain role. Then, she spent 2 1/2 years in Santa Clarita, California as a plant manager before settling into Stevens Point a little over a year ago. Lori is married, has two adult children, a golden retriever and a cat!
Don't miss Lori's presentation!
To add to the fun, door prizes will be handed out after the show, along with a 50/50 raffle winner announcement.
