This 10-year partnership will leverage financial resources to provide relevant and local training opportunities to our area firefighters who serve our communities each day. Stevens Point, WI (May 9th, 2022) – The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County launched its YouthForce workforce development program for youth and teens with a “Summer Job Fair and Career Showcase” on Wednesday, May 4th, 2:30-5:00 pm, at its Berard Center in Stevens Point.
Fifty employers and groups presented job and career opportunities to over 150 teens and youth. The fair was free to all employers and teen attendees. About half of the teens were new to the Boys & Girls Club. Younger children
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College will host its spring graduation on Saturday, May 14, with an outdoor ceremony designed to celebrate all graduating students, their families, invited guests and the College. The event begins at 1:30 p.m. on the Wisconsin Rapids Campus.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – In April, 42 Mid-State Technical College construction and industrial trade apprentices received $1,500 Tools of the Trades scholarships from Ascendium Education Group. The awards are designed to help apprentices with financial need in the Wisconsin Technical College System complete their programs and continue earning in their high-demand careers.
