Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. (ODC) is a private, not-for-profit agency whose mission is “to empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals.”
In 2022, ODC opened an outpatient mental health clinic called Opportunity for Hope. Play "The Sandbox" course at Sand Valley Golf Resort & support ODC's outpatient mental health clinic, Opportunity for Hope, at the same time!

About the clinic:
- In 2022, ODC's Mental Health Team supported nearly 150 individuals in our local communities who are struggling with mental health challenges.
- Opportunity for Hope is addressing the growing and unmet needs for mental health services in Central WI by supporting schools and decreasing waitlist services, while providing support to an increased number of people working to improve their mental health.
- Located within ODC in Wisconsin Rapids, Opportunity for Hope is ODC's new outpatient mental health clinic. There are future plans of a Stevens Point satellite office in 2023.
About the course:
- The Sandbox, voted “Best New Short Course” by Golf Magazine, is a 17-hole short walking course at Sand Valley, providing an intimate connection to the sand county landscape of central Wisconsin.
- Located 50 yards from the Clubhouse and in the backyard of some of the lodges, The Sandbox plays through a restored sand prairie that sits within the same V-shaped sand ridge that frames the Mammoth Dunes course.
- With holes ranging from 40 to 140 yards, the short course features unique green complexes found on the property, including a biarritz, double plateau, lion’s mouth, and a redan.
