Disney's Beauty and the Beast JR

It’s a “tale as old as time…” The Playhouse Theatre Group of Central Wisconsin is proud to present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR, featuring an incredible cast of over 60 talented young performers from across Central Wisconsin. Performances will be February 27 - March 1 at SPASH Theater in Stevens Point.
 

The 60-minute musical is based on the 1994 Broadway production and Disney’s 1991 animated feature film. Beauty and the Beast JR tells the story of Belle, an adventurous young girl, and the Beast, her hideous captor who is actually a young prince trapped under a spell. In order to break the spell, the Beast must learn to love another and earn her love in return – before time runs out. The show includes popular songs from the Academy Award®-winning film score such as “Be Our Guest” and “Belle,” as well as original songs from the 1994 Tony®-nominated Broadway musical.
 

Beauty and the Beast JR is directed by Tori Schultz, with music direction by Amy Formella & Hannah Zdroik, choreography by Emily Bunczak, tech/lighting headed by Shannon Rutta and costuming led by Karen Salienko. Our Children’s Choirs, led by Odessa Turnquist & Brooklyn Firkus, will share a special performance before each show.
 

Children will have the opportunity to meet Belle, take photos, play games and make crafts prior to our Friday & Saturday shows at Belle’s Enchanted Castle Party! This will take place in the SPASH South Commons; guests must have a ticket to attend.
 

Concessions will be available at intermission. All donations to the concessions jars will be given to One Big Tent of Portage County. They assist those in our area by providing much needed food, job, housing and medical resources, laundry services, and much more.
