Do you enjoy working outdoors, serving citizens, and are seeking seasonal employment? The Portage County Parks Department has a Seasonal Assistant Park Manager available! This position is available immediately and may work through the end of October. This position will work 20 - 40 hrs / week.
Starting pay is $18.03 / hour
Below are the main job responsibilities:
- Performs park clean up and custodial duties at various parks and other areas as assigned.
- Picks up litter and garbage by hand. Cleans park buildings including toilets, showers, open and enclosed shelters, nature center and storage areas.
- Mows and trims grass by hand and machine. May assist with seasonal mowing and maintenance projects at any park.
- Collects fees, enforces park rules and regulations and provides park users with information and aid.
- Collects fees for camping lodge rentals, firewood, dump stations.
- Enforces the park ordinance and other park rules and regulations and provides information and emergency first aid to park users.
- Performs maintenance and repair projects under the supervision of the park manager.
These are the skills we are seeking:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior park experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be 18 years old.
