MARSHFIELD – Alzheimer’s is a progressive and fatal disease that devastates people’s families, finances and futures. Thankfully, the Alzheimer’s Association is addressing this global crisis by providing education and support to the millions who face this type of dementia, while advancing critical research toward treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
Recognizing the great work of the Alzheimer's Association, Security Health Plan and Marshfield Clinic Health System provided financial support Stevens Point, WI – Midstate Independent Living Choices (MILC) in partnership with the K.B. Willett Ice Arena will host their second annual Adapted Ice-Skating Event. This event will take place at the K.B. Willett Ice Arena in Stevens Point, WI on March 11, 2023, from 12 pm to 2 pm to promote accessible ice skating for people with disabilities.
Our goal with this event is to provide individuals with disabilities in our community access to a recreational activity that they may have thought was not An extraordinary storyteller and respected expert on race relations will speak at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in February, one of several events planned to mark Black History Month.
Daryl Davis has engaged leaders of the Ku Klux Klan and white supremacist groups for nearly 40 years with this question: “How can you hate me when you don’t even know me?” On Wednesday, Feb. 15, he will present “Diversity Lessons from a Black Klan Whisperer” from 4-5:30 p.m. It will be offered in-person in the George Orwell’s parable of totalitarianism set on a farm will be shared by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Department of Theatre and Dance in February, with staged readings of the play on campuses in Marshfield, Stevens Point and Wausau.
“Animal Farm” will be performed at UWSP at Marshfield at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9; at UW-Stevens Point at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, and Saturday, Feb. 11; and UWSP at Wausau at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12.

Stevens Point, Wisconsin (January 27, 2023)—Worzalla, an employee-owned book printer specializing in printing high-quality children’s books, cookbooks, and hard-cover bestsellers, is donating 300 books to Books from the Heart and invites community members to make additional book donations now through February 10.
