A guest lecture organized by the UW-Stevens Point School of Humanities and Global Studies invites the public to examine times of parting, the various farewells we all make in life.
The talk, “Practicing Farewell,” on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 6:00 p.m. will feature emeritus professor of philosophy Dr. Scott Davison of Morehead State University. As life changes, we find ourselves saying farewell to people, places, activities, and things. What makes a farewell successful? Davison will discuss ways in which saying farewell opens up appreciation for the present.
The event will be held in the UWSP Haeni Chemistry Biology Building, Room 101, at 2101 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point. The event is free and open to the public.
In addition, Davison’s visit will allow him to present for Department of Philosophy capstone students.
