STEVENS POINT, WI — The Stevens Point Area YMCA is excited to invite the community to take part in My Y Week, a five-day celebration of community, connection, and giving back, taking place June 23-27. This special week is dedicated to showcasing the YMCA’s nonprofit mission while offering fun, meaningful ways for people of all ages to get involved. As part of the celebration, the YMCA is also offering free trial memberships through June 30, giving new visitors the chance to experience the Y’s facilities and select programs at no cost.
Each day will feature a unique fundraising activity to support the Y’s core focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. Events will be held in the Stevens Point Area YMCA lobby from 8:00-11:00 AM and 3:00-6:00 PM daily, and are open to all.
Some highlights of the week include The Great Pie Off on Monday, where community members can donate to see their favorite YMCA staff members take a pie to the face. On Wednesday, participants can join Treadmill Time-Out, a challenge to “free” a staff member from walking on a treadmill by helping them reach a donation goal. The celebration ends with a grand finale — Stevie Pointer’s Rooftop Rescue — during which UW-Stevens Point’s beloved mascot will be “stuck” on the roof until enough funds are raised to bring him back down. Stevie will appear on the roof from 9:30-10:00 AM and 10:30-11:00 AM on Friday, June 27.
“This week is about more than just fun — it’s about celebrating the Y and the people who make our work possible,” said Ryan Zietlow, CEO and President of the Stevens Point Area YMCA. “As a nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our community to do what we do. My Y Week is a chance to say thank you and show just how impactful giving back can be — all while having a great time.”
Daily updates and event details will be shared on the YMCA’s social media channels throughout the week. All proceeds will support YMCA programs that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in the greater Stevens Point area.
