Aspirus expands class offerings for expectant parents

WAUSAU, Wis. – Aspirus Health is excited to announce that they now offer a series of virtual childbirth-education classes to Aspirus obstetrics patients. Through their partnership with Birthly, patients can access a variety of prenatal and postnatal classes at no cost.

“This series of classes will be offered to all Aspirus obstetrics patients systemwide,” says Kara Mrozek, Nursing Supervisor at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital – Birthing Center. “We’ve learned that 98 percent of obstetrics patients prefer virtual classes,” explains Mrozek. “So, we’re very proud to offer all these classes to our patients at no cost to them.”

All Birthly classes are live, meaning patients can connect through a live video feed with certified, experienced childbirth educators, while learning in the comfort of their own home. Birthly educators will provide interactive teaching on a variety of topics and patients will have dedicated time to ask questions.

Several of the classes are offered in Spanish in addition to English.

Available classes include:

  • Early pregnancy preparations
  • Prenatal Bootcamp
  • Coping and Comfort
  • Breastfeeding 101
  • Newborn Care
  • Perinatal Mental Health
  • Pre/Postnatal Movement and Mindfulness

“Aspirus will also continue to offer in-person classes at the locations currently providing them,” explains Mrozek.

Patients will receive more information on how to sign up for and access classes during their OB appointments. To find an OB/Gyn near you, visit aspirus.org/obstetrics-gynecology
