Goodwill NCW Winner of 2025 USA TODAY Top Workplaces Award

Menasha, Wisconsin—Goodwill North Central Wisconsin (NCW) is proud to announce that it has earned the prestigious 2025 USA TODAY Top Workplaces award. The award honors organizations with 150 or more employees that have created exceptional, people-first cultures. This year, more than 42,000 organizations were invited to participate. The winners are recognized for their commitment to fostering a workplace environment that values employee listening and engagement.

The winners are determined by authentic employee feedback captured through a confidential survey conducted by Energage, the HR research and technology company behind the Top Workplaces program since 2006. The results are calculated based on employee responses to statements about Workplace Experience Themes, which are proven indicators of high performance. One highlight from the survey shows Goodwill NCW with a 79% Overall Workplace Experience Score.  This score summarizes an organization's workplace culture.

This award joins two additional awards earned by Goodwill NCW:

  • Northeast Wisconsin Top Workplaces 2025 Award – First Place (Large business).
  • 2025 Top Leadership Award in Northeast Wisconsin: Chris Hess – Large Business Category.
  • 2025 Top Workplaces Industry Award. (Celebrates organizations that have built people-first workplace cultures within their sector (nonprofit). The award marks them as an employer of choice for those seeking employment in the nonprofit industry).

“We are proud that our team members have validated what we strive for – a workplace where people feel valued, inspired by our leadership, and deeply connected to our mission,” Chris Hess, President and CEO at Goodwill NCW said. “We are honored to receive these awards and grateful to our team, whose collaboration and dedication create an exceptional workplace culture every single day."

Recently, at the Northeast Wisconsin Top Workplaces awards ceremony, Goodwill NCW learned they captured first place for Top Workplace in the “Large Business” category based solely on team member feedback. Goodwill NCW President and CEO Chris Hess was also presented the “Leadership” award for the Large Business category.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
