STEVENS POINT, WI — The Stevens Point Area YMCA, in partnership with the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Portage County, is proud to host their Second Annual Senior Prom: “Hooray for Hollywood” on Friday, May 30th, at the Stevens Point Area YMCA.
This exciting evening invites community members aged 60 and older to enjoy a glamorous night of dinner, dancing, mocktails, music, photo booth pictures, and more. Dinner will be served from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, followed by a lively dance from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Registration is required by Friday, May 16th. Interested participants should call 715.347.4856 to register.
Attendees aged 60 and over may donate towards their meal with a suggested donation of $5, while guests under 60 are asked to pay $12 for their meal. No eligible senior will be denied a meal due to an inability to contribute. All proceeds from the sale of soft drinks, mocktails, and snacks will benefit YMCA senior programs, which support health, wellness, and social connection for older adults in the community.
“Events like the Senior Prom create a sense of joy, connection, and belonging that is vital to the well-being of our older adults,” says Kristy Bridenhagen, Director of the Active Older Adults Program at the Y. “It’s about celebrating life, friendship, and, most importantly, community.”
The Stevens Point Area YMCA and the ADRC are committed to providing opportunities for seniors to stay active, social, and engaged. To register, call 715.347.4856. For more information, contact Kristy Bridenhagen at 715.952.9365 or kbridenhagen@spymca.org.
