Amber Damrau, family nurse practitioner, recently started a practice at Marshfield Medical Center-River Region at Stevens Point. Her career in health care started when she was a certified nursing assistant
in college.
“I learned that I enjoy helping people and getting to know them,” said Damrau. “Everyone is unique and has a story.”
She went on to earn her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Viterbo University in
La Crosse. She’s held numerous roles as a nurse before recently completing her master’s
at Edgewood College in Madison.
“I’ve worked in several areas, including the emergency department, ICU,
cardiology, and on the UW Health Med Flight pediatric/neonatal team,” said Damrau.
“Throughout all of these experiences, I found my passion for providing care to
people of all ages.”
She now looks forward to sharing the knowledge she’s gained throughout her career to
help patients in the Stevens Point area.
“I look forward to building relationships with patients and empowering them to improve their health and live healthier lives” said Damrau. “Health promotion, education, and prevention are key to helping people."
Damrau is a Tigerton native. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, horseback riding, and helping on her family’s dairy farm.
